Tofu Burger
Add more or change the veggies or add more spice.
Ingredients
- 133 gram Tofu Extra Firm
- 36 gram Onion
- 20 gram Celery
- 20 gram Red bell pepper
- 8 gram Cornstarch
- 6 gram Chipotle Pepper In Adobo Sauce
Instructions
- Press the tofu to make sure that you drain all the water from it
- Chop onion, carrots, chipotle peppers, and bell pepper into small dices
- Crumble the tofu into a bowl. Mix in the vegetables, cornstarch, and spices
- Form into two patties, I like to use a 4 oz patty maker for this.
- Set the patties in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes, it is not necessary but they are easier to handle after they have been chilled
Pan-fry or oven-bake the burger:
Pan-fry
- Cook in a pan on medium-high heat until golden. About 5-6 minutes on each side.
Oven-bake
- Heat oven to 350 F, place patties on a parchment-covered baking sheet, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite burger toppings.
