How to make oatmeal
Easy to follow stovetop or microwave recipe for rolled oats
Ingredients
- 40 gram Rolled oats 150 calories
- 236 gram/ml Liquid such as water or milk (1 cup)
Instructions
- Measure the oats and liquid. The recommended liquid-to-oat ratio is 40 grams of rolled oats and 1 cup (236 grams/ml) of liquid.
Stovetop
- Bring liquid to boil in a small saucepan.
- Stir in oats and reduce heat to medium.
- Let cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Let stand for 2-3 minutes.
Microwave
- Add liquid and oats to a microwave bowl.
- Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes.
Volumized
- Add 380 grams of water and 40 grams of rolled oats to a large microwave-safe bowl
- Microwave for 4 -1/2 minutes.
- Let stay for 5-15 minutes to cool
- Once cooled, cover and place in the fridge for 6 hours.
Notes
Always add a dash of salt to your oats, it helps bring out the natural sweetness.
